Beta Testing

At E3 2009, Square Enix confirmed that Final Fantasy 14 would have an extended beta testing phase, with this period being much longer than that of Final Fantasy 11. Square Enix stated at GamesCom 09 that they hope to have news of beta testing soon and that they are hoping to launch beta testing this year. It is also confirmed that it will be an open beta! So keep your eyes peeled for more!

As we learnt in E3 2009, FF14 development has been going on for the last 4 years, we are inclined to think that the above time schedule is likely to be met. When such news becomes available you can be sure that we will update this section as soon as possible.

There is further indication that Square Enix will have a beta schedule very soon as they are currently hiring users to partake in internal testing. Whilst they have not specified it is for FF14, one of the requirements are listed as Knowledge of MMORPG (Final Fantasy XI in particular), leading us to believe that FF14 is very near a playable stage. If this is the case we should have news on an official beta testing plan very soon as internal testing commences in early June (in other words, now)
