In the short space of time since news of Final Fantasy 14 emerged, there have been various facts and rumours floating around. Upon viewing the trailer many users commented on the fact that a giant sea serpent emerging from the sea in a storm bore a remarkable resemblance to Leviathan. This had the added implication that summoning would be a feature of Final Fantasy 14.
If you click the link below to the image in question, you can see from the picture that the creature is extremely similar to the Leviathans of old, featuring the same snake like body, webbed wings and same facial structure. Therefore it would seem a safe bet to assume that Leviathan, and thus summoning, feature in FF14.

Xbox 360 Release
A release on Microsoft’s Xbox 360 is currently up for debate as Square Enix are in prolonged talks with Microsoft about how Final Fantasy XIV will work with the Xbox Live system. There are currently at loggerheads and it is unsure as to whether this will lead to the successful port into the 360.
