The logo in Final Fantasy 14 is apparently an important depiction of the vein the game will take and gives some insight into the battle system. Amano, the designer of the logo, was told the following by Square Enix:
weapons are very important and think of the concept of a wheel
The development team then told us at E3 2009 that we should look closely at the official logo for hints and hidden meanings. What this currently means is unknown to everyone but the FF14 team but speculation is currently rife with theories about what this means. The most settled upon (and obvious) view is that the aspect of comrades in battle will be very important, though what aspect the wheel represents is still unknown to all but the development team.
