Final Fantasy 14 Release Date Revealed!

Today Square Enix told everyone what they have been waiting to hear for a very long time – the release date of Final Fantasy 14.

Windows PC gamers will be able to play this game on the 30th September 2010, after having to choose between the standard edition at $49.99 or the collectors edition at $74.99. Choosing the collectors edition will allow you early access to the game on the 22nd September, as well as including a making-of DVD, a Final Fantasy XIV-branded security token, an art book, special cover art by Yoshitaka Amano, a “fully-personalized Right of Passage Certificate” and a stat-boosting Onion Helm item for pre-orders. Pre-ordering the standard edition gets you a Garland Goggle, which increases skill progression time.

Playstation 3 games will have to wait till March 2011 to be able to play this latest Final Fantasy.

Both versions will give you 30 days of free game play upon purchase, giving one one playable character and an NPC which will function as an item retainer. Continuing to play will thus cost you $12.99.
